EABC elects new leaders

Members of the business community in East Africa have chosen Ms Consolata Ndayishimiye, the President of Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burundi Rwanda as the new Chairman of East African Business Council.


Ms Nadayishimiye was elected at EABC Annual General Meeting held on February 25th, 2011 in Bujumbura, Burundi. She succeeds Mr Faustin Mbundu who will still serve on the EABC Executive Committee as the immediate Past Chairman.

Workshop on transport corridor development opens in Dar Es Salaam

A two-day workshop to review the East Africa Corridor Diagnostic Study (CDS) opened today at the Mlimani City Conference Center in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. World Bank Approves US$104.4 Million in Poverty Reduction Support Financing for Rwanda

 The World Bank Board of Executive Directors of the International Development Association  (IDA) approved financing to the Government of Rwanda in the amount of US$104.4 million equivalent to support the implementation of key reforms outlined in its Economic Development Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS). East Africa gets into gear for cleaner, greener fuel

In a move that is set to improve air quality and reduce vehicle emissions across East Africa, Kenya has officially launched its transition to low-sulphur diesel. Containing only 5% of the amount of sulphur present in Kenya's previous diesel supply, the cleaner fuel is already available in limited stations and will soon be present in pumps across the country.
