Growing interest in small scale farmers by financial institutions, banks MFIs, NGOs amongst others has increased the number of financial products available. 

However, few farmers know of these financial and insurance products thus limiting their uptake and utilization. APF Kenya is organizing a series of Agri-business Finance Fairs to

• Increase the awareness and access of farmers to information on the financial products and services available in the market
• Provide space for the start of deal-making arrangements between farmers (‘ organisations) and financial service providers
• Encourage the development of financial services targeting farmers by sharing, recognising and awarding those that are innovative

The first finance fair will be held in Eldoret for two days, from 29^th to 30th November, 2011.

The fair which is to target the North Rift welcomes farmers, farmer organisations, financial providers and other interested agencies from the surrounding counties. The event is free for farmers and will

have 3 components:

1. A Financial Fair where financial providers can showcase their products and can discuss future arrangements with farmers and other chain actors
2. Agri-Finance open workshops and forum to discuss sectoral issues related to access to finance
3. APF Award scheme to recognize innovative financial services, products and arrangements.
